COMMON NAME: Lois Adams Desert Willow™
DESCRIPTION: Proprietary cultivar known for its lack of seedpod production and long season of profuse blooms. Moderately fast-growing deciduous shade tree. Compact and upright bright green narrow leaves with trumpet shaped flowers of rose pink with burgundy centers, that attracts humming birds. Standard and multi-trunk tree to 25' tall and 15'-20' wide. Hardy to 10 degrees.
LANDSCAPE USES: Hardy and reliable it can tolerate both periods of drought and wet soils. Versatile and colorful it is suitable for a variety of commercial, residential landscapes and public sites such as streets, parks, golf courses, detention basins, patios and courtyards as a featured accent.
LANDSCAPE LOCATIONS: North Las Vegas Detention Basin, Midwestern University Clinic & Research Facility (Phoenix), ABCO Shopping Center at Linda Vista & Thornydale (Tucson), Texas Tech University (Lubbock)
CARE: Prune and stake to desired shape. Established trees are drought tolerant, but weekly irrigation during dry periods will promote faster growth.
